This week

This past couple of weeks has been interesting, to say the least. After unboxing Isla, I was of course looking for another Angel. I was thinking of two in particular, from the same seller, both late Originals, which had been listed for ages (they came up around the same time Hallie did!). I was about to buy one of them, when I realised a new Angel had been listed: an early Originals Cloe. As she was an auction format, I couldn't buy her right away, so I decided I'd bid on her when the time came, and then go for one of the others after she arrived. As they'd been listed so long, I thought there was no risk they'd sell, but there was a much greater risk of the new one getting a bid (or possibly not getting a bid, but then not being relisted). You can probably guess where this is going! A couple of days later, the Saturday before last, I went onto My eBay, and I looked absentmindedly at my watched items. I then saw under them the dreaded words: "this item is out of stock". Normally I see this on my watched items after I've bought them, but I knew I hadn't bought these. This only left one option: someone else had got there first. I was shocked and surprisingly hurt. I know they're only dolls, but I felt a sort of connection to them, as I'd been planning to get them for ages, and even had names picked out for them.

I didn't really know what to do afterwards: I had no new Angelz, and there were still nearly 48 hours left on the auction for the newly listed one. I was going out anyway, so I had a look for LOLs while I was there, but I came back disappointed. Then, I placed a bid on the new Angel, hoping I would get her. I also had a look for another type of doll I've been considering getting for a while, but didn't have any of. I was able to find one with only a couple of days left, and debated and debated bidding on it, although I decided not to in the end.

The next day, I had a pretty nerve wracking wait for the auction to end, and even increased my max bid to ensure I won. It was a relief when I did win! Then, a couple of hours later I placed a very last minute bid on the other doll, which I also won. So, after a very long weekend, I may not have had the two Angelz I originally planned on, but I did have two dolls on the way! The Angel arrived quickly, on Saturday, but the other one took until Monday to arrive. And on the same day the Angel arrived, I also managed to get a new LOL. So I really am lucky at the moment!
