Meygan's unboxing

On 8 December, I opened Meygan. I was expecting it to be straightforward, but it, well, wasn't. I started by removing the inner layer of packaging:

So far, so good. Time to remove the pets...

This where the problems began!

I pulled out the lizard, expecting the fresh plasticky smell that new Angelz (generally!) have. However, I was instead greeted with the fairly strong smell of cigarette smoke. I wondered if it was just the lizard, but no, the butterfly and Meygan herself also had the smell (although fainter). I've never had this before (I don't think), so I was pretty shocked. I never noticed the smell while she was still packaged, so I'm not sure if it came from the seller or if it somehow got in during manufacture.

There was only one thing for it: soak the doll and pets in soapy water! I do this for all the second hand Angelz, but I've never thought it necessary for new Angelz before. Maybe I should start to do so!

These pictures are of Meygan (and her pets!) drying off. They still have a slight smoke smell, but it's a lot better than before.

I love this photo. It shows her bright turquoise eyes, and perfectly coordinated copper coloured hair and gingham outfit.

Here are the little (fresher!) critters.

Here they are together, perfect.

Such a sweet little face. I think all that soaking might have washed away part  of her hair (nearest her hair line), but I don't mind, she's still gorgeous.

Here are Meygan and Josie, my two newest Originals for the moment.

Despite that little complication, I'm so pleased to finally have Meygan open. I'll be back soon with my newest Angelz!
