Let's go back in time, back to last year. On eBay I saw a lovely Originals Nona included in a small bundle with some other Bratz items. I was also amazed to find her two pets included in another bundle; at the time, the only other Angel that I had managed to get this way was Elena, my original "miracle" Angel. I knew I had to get this Nona, and chose out the name Ophelia, which is also Elena's middle name. On the last day, there were no bids on the bundle, so I placed a low one, assuming it was a given that I'd win. I sat watching the auction as it ended, only to see someone else bid at the last second - I'd lost out. Disappointment set in immediately, but I managed to console myself with the thought that maybe the buyer would relist this Angel - maybe they wanted another item in the bundle? Incredibly, this did happen - a few weeks later she was listed as a buy it now with another couple of Angelz that I already had. I was delighted, but held off buying for a couple of days as I'd already bought quite a few things on eBay just beforehand. You can probably guess - I missed out again! My hope of getting her anytime soon was pretty much extinguished at this point, and this turned out to be accurate - I've not seen her at all since. In fact, the pet bundle has also sold, so I'm now looking for the whole set again!
The reason I'm sharing this is that my new Angel Ophelia isn't the Nona mentioned above, but looks rather like her; predictably, as she is a Tess, who is actually twin to Nona in the Bratz universe (though nothing in the Lil' Angelz packaging indicates this). I saw her pets listed ages ago in a large bundle, then another (smaller) bundle came up, also with both of her pets, but for a cheaper price. I then kept my eyes out for the doll coming up, as I do for a few others where I know the pets are listed somewhere (not many!). When she finally came up, I was excited, but at first indecisive as the two bundles together were expensive. However, the relief I felt each time I logged into eBay and saw she was still unsold made me realise I really wanted her. So, that was it - she's now mine and the rest is history! I'm pretty sure that Ophelia is my most expensive Angel ever (even though she's preowned!), but when I look at her I realise that she is priceless.
Here is Ophelia united with both of her pets. I forgot to take a picture of the pets alone. I don't have many sheep, and although I have multiple elephants I think this one is my favourite colour.
This one is a bit sharper, and so more accurately shows her sweet little face. Something about the colour pattern of the three of them here just seems perfect.
I can't stop looking at her face. Those light highlights on dark hair and deep pink lips just complement her olive skin perfectly.
I took this one to show the stains on the back of her head, although (perhaps surprisingly) they don't bother me in the slightest - she doesn't have a mark on her front!
I opened Ophelia at the same time as another Angel, who I will write about soon. I can't wait to share this one with you, as though she is a contrasting character to Ophelia, they somehow belong together, and they have given me a new energy to continue my collection in a way that I haven't felt for a long time.
