Cloe's unboxing

It's been a very long time since I made one of these posts! I have opened Cloe, who's been sitting here in  her box for a couple of weeks. I've opened 5 LOL dolls in that time; I guess the thrill of unwrapping a mystery doll is a greater "hit" than battling through the Angelz packaging to get to a doll I could already see. However, this has its advantages: no duplicates, and no unexpected defects (see my upcoming post!).

Cloe was harder to open than the others so far: her box may have had an "easy open" tag, but it was anything but! There was a piece of tape that didn't want to come off, but when it finally did, I still had to struggle to pull apart the two layers of cardboard. It was soon clear why: the inner layer was absolutely slathered in glue. I don't know if this was accidental, or if all the first wave were like this: I can't remember opening the other early ones well enough, although I know I often had difficulty with all types of Angelz.

Here's a picture of Cloe in her inner plastic, after I finally got her open:

This packaging is different to other Angelz: it actually goes in front of the monkey: there's a little plastic insert round the back holding it in. There is a little sticker below saying "pet's head bobbles", instead of the piece of card we normally get. The numbers are stickers too, instead of on loose pieces of card.

Here is the monkey after opening:

He was still in the extra plastic at this point: in fact, I think there's an elastic band round his neck!

Here he is finally free!

He reminds me of someone - Tara's monkey to be exact:

The only difference is the eye colour: Tara's monkey has purple eyes, whereas Cloe's monkey has green eyes.

Enough about the pet, here is the girl herself:

So sweet! I love her pastel coloured outfit.

Cloe and monkey together:

A very sweet pair.

Here she is head on.

Unfortunately, however, she has a couple of minor defects.

Firstly, she has a few dark marks on her head:

I haven't tried to remove these: I'm not sure of they will come off, as they've been there so long.

She also lacks movement in her right arm. It's hard to show here, but although I can move it, it immediately moves back, unlike her left arm which stays raised.

These are very minor defects, and I'm not bothered about them: Cloe is very lovely as she is, and she is a very welcome addition to my (hardly perfect!) collection.

Here is one last picture to finish off:

Ariel and Cloe, two Cloes with the same hairstyle, and similar positions (both crawling). You can see the difference in highlights: Cloe's are slightly lighter, compared with Ariel's very bright ones. This isn't a defect, just a variation (maybe old vs. new?).

I'm so glad to have Cloe, and I will continue to update when I get more Angelz, and I will try to catch up my blog with my LOL dolls so far (as I say every time, but never do!).
