Darcey

My first Angel of 2020 is here! She's a great start to the new year, as well, as she's (essentially) the final piece of a set. I had a bit of a battle to get hold of her; I've been searching for her for years, but wasn't having any look finding her. I may as well reveal right now who she is: one of the Zoo Yasmins (the elephant one, to be precise). She's so gorgeous, I might as well share a photo before I tell her story:

Quite a while ago, I had a little bit of luck: I managed to find both her pets on eBay. They were listed as Littlest Pet Shop, not Bratz (this happens occasionally, as sellers don't always know what they have and they look quite similar). I tried a search for LPS once out of curiosity, and managed to find the elephant. I then looked at the seller's other items and indeed, the lizard was there (but not the doll). I was both pleased and disappointed. I didn't really want to buy the pets and face waiting ages for a doll which might not come up. They were listed as buy it now, so I decided to take a risk and not buy them immediately, and instead wait with the hope the doll would come up. With the sheer number of loose Angelz that come up, I knew she had to be one of them eventually.

Very recently, a seller listed a few different Angelz, and luckily, one of them was the one I needed! I had to wait patiently for the auction to end, then place a late bid. I was the only bidder, so won, and then had to rush to My eBay buy both pets as quickly as I could, trying to prevent someone else getting in first! Thankfully I succeeded, and now have the happy little family.

So here are some photos:

I washed Darcey and her pets, as I do with all preowned Angelz. I tried to remove all clothes, but the bib was tied too tightly and I had to leave it on. This was probably for the best, as I may have lost it down the plughole!

The first pet, the elephant. This is very similar to Libby's elephant, however it has a different colour bow (blue instead of pink), so it's definitely the correct one.

Sweet little Darcey. I absolutely love the elephant costume. The bib has so much detail. The only thing is the tail is a little mouse like!

Coming up with her name was a bit of a struggle: I was originally calling her Nell, but wasn't that keen. Then I heard the name Darcey somewhere, and it struck me that it would be perfect for her.

It feels so good to finally have another set complete; well, as complete as it can be without the Sasha. I've posted before about the doubt I have about her existing. So, between the three I've got since I resumed collecting in 2018, and the three I already had, it looks like I'm now done with this adorable set.
