The first time she was listed was at the same time as Lucy: a different bundle by the same seller. This bundle included Candy plus a Sweet Scentz Cloe (a duplicate of Debbie). I was excited to see both bundles listed as I wasn't expecting to get one new Angel, let alone two! The auction was running for a week. I actually put a starting bid on pretty quickly as there was a "best offer" option, and previously I've lost out on Angelz I really wanted due to a best offer meaning the auction ended before it should have. Then the week went by, with no other bids on either bundle. On the last day I decided to place a higher bid on both of them, just in case they'd caught someone else's eye. Then I just had to wait for the auctions to end. I won Lucy for the starting bid. However, I was outbid at the last minute on the other bundle, but I had no reason to worry as I had a contingency plan!
The day after the two bundles were listed, I spotted a third bundle from another seller. There were 5 Angelz in this bundle. I already had 4 of them, but the fifth one turned out to be Candy. I didn't recognise her straight away as her outfit was a different shade to what I was expecting (more blue than turquoise), but a closer look at the photos showed she was indeed the same Angel as in the other bundle. The reason my preference was for the other bundle over this one was because I try to avoid getting extra duplicates if possible, and the starting bid was about £5 lower. Of course, once the other bundle sold, none of this mattered: I knew I had to try and get the second bundle, which ended the next day. Despite my concerns that I might lose this bundle too, clearly I didn't, and in fact, won it for the starting bid, which was less than my maximum bid for the other bundle.
Both of my bundles - Lucy's and Candy's - arrived on the same day, and I couldn't wait to open them. I washed them both together and took a load of photos. I will now share Candy's pictures, as this post has turned out so much longer than I planned it to be.
Sweet Candy.
I took this picture to show her flaws, although they don't show well. She has 3 spots on the back on her head, however you can only see one dark one. Just like Lucy, she's imperfect, but I don't mind.
Here is her other flaw: the candy motif on her outfit has partially rubbed off. I'm not sure if I caused this when washing her in overly hot water, or if she was like this to begin with. It's a bit annoying, but I'm so pleased to have her that I don't mind.
Ok, complaints over. Now it's just photos that show her pretty gorgeous face.
She's in quite a versatile position, forward crawling; I can move her so she sits up unaided, or lies flat, or this sort of cheer.
This one shows the frill on her outfit; this was how I identified her in the second listing. I actually had the same issue as the eBay seller: these pictures just don't show the colour at all, it's definitely turquoise, not blue! However, this is because of my camera, not Candy!
Candy marks one more series (well, wave!) completed. Despite her faults, I'm so pleased to have my second lockdown Angel. I hope there will be many more to come!
